Shoot To Thrill is a Color Magazine conceived project in partnership with Red Bull that began in 2006 as a photography event. 2007 introduced the use of Super 8 film, and the element of film that would later consume the project in 2008 when Red Bull Shoot To Thrill triumphed as the first and most likely the last project of it’s kind utilizing Super 16mm film cameras exclusively.
Shoot To Thrill has included Canada’s best names in skateboarding such as Rick McCrank, Ryan Decenzo, Paul Machnau, Jordan Hoffart, Sheldon Meleshinski, Antoine Asselin, Corey Sheppard and more. The screen has played host to many of Skateboarding’s best filmers and directors including Corey Adams (Machotaildrop, Harvey Spannos), and French Fred Mortagne (Menikmati).
Shoot To Thrill’s Digital Division was introduced in 2008 opening the 72 hour challenge to anyone with a camera, team, and the endurance to complete such a challenge.
With 100 photos spanning 10 years of Color, Russ Milligan is a frontrunner for hardest working Canadian skateboarder.
