Vans Vault and California
Fashion / Life / Skate
Vans has many options for the shoe buyer outside of the normal skate program. Two of which, The Vault line and the California Collection use premium materials and put new twists on classic profiles. Mr. Ed Son from the Vault line was kind enough to send over some examples like the above pictured Authentic LX1 to check out. With only 20-25 Vault retailers and 50 for the California Collection (in the US) a fairly limited number of the shoes are available each season. Not so much a marketing tactic as the reality of higher end simple sneakers.

Top quality leather and attention to detail are hallmarks of this shoe, while keeping it classic the small things count.
You can find both Vault and California Collection shoes at Livestock in Vancouver and Vault in Montreal at Off the Hook.
Here in the Bay Area, Bows and Arrows in Berkeley has the latest season of the California and Vault Collections.

The California Collection takes a similar approach to classic shoes like the Chukka boot - the Chukka Del Barco.

The Era Reissue, also from the California Collection combines classic suede with a Herringbone patterned cloth with a seamless and sleek look.

Old Skool reissue that are classy enough to wear to a wedding and then bomb a hill.

Vault's Skate-Hi LX puts polish on one of the most loved designs in skating. With premium black outer and a great interior lining of soft white leather this shoe is a study in style. Vault's quality and detail is both minimal and subtle, something that makes you pay attention to what they do each season.
