Fecal Face 10 Year Show

Life / Art

10 years of Fecal Face Dot Com were celebrated at The Luggage Store Gallery this past Friday night in downtown San Francisco. It was one for the books. Over 500 art fans, scenesters, Market St. lurkers, curiosity seekers, and long time fans of the web site showed up to show their support for the services the site has provided this past decade. Over those years the site has given people new artists, events, drunken adventures and new avenues of thinking to the world wide web. John Trippe, founder and main nut job has been seeing what started as a zine, grow into a nation, if not continent wide resource for art lovers and art seekers. Many a career (including mine) got its start or a large boost from being featured on the site.

The following is a large batch of photos from the night. Including a pre-diner with some of the Fecal Face family/contributors. Including the newst member, Max Irving, one month old son of Matt and Lindsey Irving.

Jeremy Fish, Matt and little Max.

Jessica and John Trippe on the left, Megan and Ashley on the right.

We ate at Tony's pizza in Northbeach, this was THE best margarita pizza I've ever eaten. go there, be happy.

Matt agrees.

Jeremy and Max. After the diner we headed over to the gallery.

(Looking to the front of the space) The show opened at 6 and it was packed to the gills by 6:30.

(Looking to the back) Lots of people.

The brothers Groshing. John, on the right has been a contributor, intern, housemate of Trippe's and all around amazing guy. He took photos of his friend taking a large shit on a highway overpass before it was open to traffic. His dad, who is an officer in the S.F. fire dept. saw the photos and flipped out. Not the first time, or last when photos on the site have had real life repercussions.

White shoes after Labor day, American fashion faux pas.

Outside the gallery.

Brian Barneclo, Elias Bingham of Austin's No Comply skate shop, host of the One Way or Another tour, John Trippe and Groshong, the elder.

As the night went on, the crowd got thicker.

Travis Millard, Yuko, Kelly Tunstall (stoked she's off kid duty for the night) enjoy talking about and drinking to Fecal Face.

Stairway into the main gallery, took 10 minutes to get up or down at some points during the night.

This guy was ringing bells for 10 minute until someone gave him a beer to shut up.

Red pigeon at the after party.

Long time Fecal Face DJ, Ted Shred played some of his best stuff that night between the bands. Great to see you again Ted!

Kelly Tunstall and Lisa Romero.

Kyle Ranson and Maya Hayuk.

Tripp, Fish and Gavin.

Before the last act went on, Trippe gave away some shirts, a jacket and this Jeremy Fish original to a lucky ticket holder.

Fin.
