Fecal Face 10 Year Show

Life / Art

10 years of Fecal Face Dot Com were celebrated at The Luggage Store Gallery this past Friday night in downtown San Francisco. It was one for the books. Over 500 art fans, scenesters, Market St. lurkers, curiosity seekers, and long time fans of the web site showed up to show their support for the services the site has provided this past decade. Over those years the site has given people new artists, events, drunken adventures and new avenues of thinking to the world wide web. John Trippe, founder and main nut job has been seeing what started as a zine, grow into a nation, if not continent wide resource for art lovers and art seekers. Many a career (including mine) got its start or a large boost from being featured on the site.

The following is a large batch of photos from the night. Including a pre-diner with some of the Fecal Face family/contributors. Including the newst member, Max Irving, one month old son of Matt and Lindsey Irving.

Jeremy Fish, Matt and little Max.

Skate Rock 2010 by Ty Evans

Film / Music / Skate

Ty Evans put together the above edit for Altamont of the recent madness that was the Skate Rock Tour. Highlighting just some of the events the accompany a trip of such epic proportions; plenty of skating, antics and even some arm wrestling.

Billy Pols and Plank

A couple of weeks ago the LA area was treated a great collection of various skate related films from a wide variety of film makers. One of those, Billy Pols made Plank, a great story and worth the watch. It is up over at the Emerica site. Corey Adams and Alex Craig's Macho Tail Drop won the best independent film category.

Aloha Thursday with Dyson and Adrian

Film / Skate

The fine islands that make up Hawaii have produced some great skaters, the two in today's Agency Thursday's are fine examples of the Hawaiian style. Dyson Ramones and Adrian Adrid and some friends have fun on what appears to be a typical day on the island. Must be nice.

Jerry and the 'Gonz' Skate

Fashion / Skate

This is Jerry, squinting (he doesn't normally look this goofy). A local kid in my area (San Francisco East Bay region) who loves to skate and have fun doing it. Over the past couple years I've seen him get better and better, learning new tricks in a matter of a day then loosing them after a couple weeks. He had a mean switch frontside flip but it's gone the way of the stagecoach. Regardless the kid is good and getting better. He's also pretty straight up about shit he likes and doesn't like so he made a good impartial subject to review the shoes. Although he has skated in Adidas before so it wasn't a blind test. The worst part was getting him to speak up during the interview at the end, we did it a couple times and he still looked like he was talking to his shoulder. Watch the video.

Agency Thursdays with Steven Webb

Film / Skate

Stereo posted another in their series of Thursday videos, this time featuring flow rider Steven Webb cruising through the streets of downtown LA. In this modern age of free web clips and half-assed free content, it's nice to see that Stereo is producing some nice quality clips.
