Photographer, writer, skater, art fan, jazz lover and a creepy dude with a beard Isaac McKay-Randozzi is based out of the San Francisco area. Covering things arty, skatey and arty skatey he likes taking photos of everything and going down to L.A. He likes socks, stickers, walks with his daughter and the time between 2 and 6AM.
Porous Walker has been in the pages of COLOR for a while, I don't recall if Skinner has. He does some interesting and dark work. I recently came across some of their animation; some wild and wacky stuff I tell you.
There is a story about a girl who goes to a place she doesn't belong, has a journey, meets some people and ends up in the presence of a great and powerful Wizard. Turned out the wizard was more of a charlatan than a possessor of magic. Chris Morgan who runs Science is a magician, the fact that he can still skate after the years of abuse he's put his shins through is a testament to the power he has. He runs a skate company and films a good portion of the footage you see in the teaser below.
I can say from experience the boards are good, so if you can find one - get it. It's worth the effort to support a small skater run company.
The husband and wife photography team Day 19 (Clare and Jeremy Weiss) have updated their site with what looks like a year or two worth of photos from various projects and clients. They shoot some amazing photos, like the above photo of Ethan Fowler. In their "spare time" they help run the THIS gallery.
Street Corner distribution has ended City Skateboards and added most of their riders to the roster at Think. The above promo shows the combined team as a teaser for the first feature length Think video in many years. With the new addition of Lee Yankou to the team things are looking mighty good. That guy is a manimal!
There is something about pushing through a busy city street that can't be duplicated. In the above clip, Ricky Oyola pushes around downtown Philly reminding us that it's the adventure getting to the spot that can be the most fun. Traffic and Syndrome Distribution recently teamed up, sure hope that means we'll be able to see more Traffic boards around.
Rob Harris went along with the Quiksilver team on their tour of Canada and put together this edit of the trip. With footage from Jordan Hoffart, Cory Wilson, Pat O’Rourke, Torey Goodall, Omar Hassan, Riley Hawk, Kyle Leeper, Danny Garcia and Reese Forbes it gets the skate fires going. So don't watch this if you're stuck in a cubical at work.
Skater, painter and Stereo main man Chris Pastras is in a show coming up (How We Roll) at the California African American Museum that opens on July 28th. As part of the exhibit he painted a large mural in the museum.
