My Trip to AMSTERDAM and a Day in the life of Sewa Kroetkov
I recently returned from my honeymoon in Europe and got to see a few friends along the way. First stop was Amsterdam, and I was blown away by the amount spots, skateparks and general good stuff all around that city. This is a video headed up by our friend (and Canadian) Gabriel Authier of Dutch superstar Sewa Kroetkov.

continue to be whisked away on a honeymoon with my bride and I... that's weird.

They love their bicycles in the Netherlands. Goodluck remembering where you parked though! We had a wild night cruising around the canals from bar to bar, Juli riding side saddle. A memory that won't be soon forgotten.

Marie and Juli doing as the Dutch do.
There's a lot of students in Amsterdam which makes it a pretty happening city at night.

Being from BC, I was a lot more interested in trying these other things they had readily available at every corner, than sitting in a cafe full of smoke.

Our street.
The most bizarre thing was when we figured out that Juli and I were renting the very same apartment Gabe lived in when he first moved to the city. What are the chances!?

We cruised the Red Light district during the day, and that was gnarly enough. Kinda cool when you think of the history and how preserved that tradition is still today. Maybe our understanding of "XXX" comes from here, as it's also the symbol for the city of Amsterdam. I guess a quick wiki search could tell me.

And look - Even the Red Light district has evolved for every sexual orientation.

There's little modular parks like this all around the city. Gabe and I had a good session in a bowl the night of our raging bike escapade. He was wearing some pretty sharp looking boots, too!

skating on the honeymoon. In search of the Skatepark of Amsterdam just a short ferry from the city.
Proof that I have the best wife EVER!

We finally found the skatepark on the second floor of a seemingly abandoned warehouse with originator Rob Rouleaux to greet us. I was too hung over from the night mentioned to take advantage of the open beer taps at the park, but after a session there I went to find the Red Bull office located just a couple hundred meters away, with this really sick DICK/VAGINA bowl sitting out front. Apparently an art project. The kids didn't seem to notice and their mom didn't mind.

I wasn't the only soldier form Vancouver to shralp there.

We have these Blue Herrons in Vancouver, but none as fearless as this beast was.
On our last day in Amsterdam we took a morning stroll to the coffee shop we frequented and got to see some of the UNSEEN photo expo that as opening that day.
