THIS TIME NEXT MONTH

Film / Skate

This Time Tomorrow is a Philly based skateboard video project that's spanned the last 3 years of the decade. Under the direction of Chris Mulhern the cast and crew has torn up the streets of London, Paris, Lyon, Rome, Berlin, Athens, Venice, Montreal and my family's home town of Trieste! Starring american skaters Devon Connell, Jimmy McDonald, Curtis Rapp, Dave Caddo, Brendan Granstrand and Will Harmon with equal parts by UK's Rory Milanes, Steph Morgan and Lucien Clarke and some east coast Canadians for good measure - this rare independent video is something you won't want to let pass you by. What a great way to start off the year!

HAPPY ACCIDENTS OPENS IN TORONTO

Art

For its first exhibition of 2010, Red Bull 381 Projects in Toronto invited a selection of artists to nominate the next for a show aptly named after the defunct URL happyaccidents.com. The exhibition is organized by gallery curator Nicholas Brown and Toronto artist Niall McClelland. Each has selected one artist, giving them carte blanche to choose two additional artists based on their own criteria.

Just hours before heading to the airport to return home from China, Brian Caissie sent these photos and captions to sum up the remainder of their 10 days skating Shenzehn. Have a safe flight home boys!

BabyFace club, we met up with some friends and partied  ti'll 6am last night! The clubs here are very visual with lasers, gogo girls dancing and cheap drinks. At Jelly K you could even play drinking games for Hello Kitty dolls.

HE CAN CUT IT

Print / Film / Skate

A few months back we published an ad announcing the DC x City Of New Lights "You Can Cut It" contest. Participants could download raw video clips from the filming for the City Of New Lights and edit their own rendition which would be sent back and judged by none other than the director himself, Jarvis Nigelski. So without further a due, Congratulations to 16 year old, Bryan Capiñanes from Vancouver! He won a $500 prize pack from DC. Watch his winning edit and other entries here.

I have to say though, this one is pretty tight:

MACHOTAILDROP - THE TRAILER

Film

Most of us would place pro skateboarders up there along with movie stars anyway, but now you really can. Rick McCrank, John Rattray, Steve Olson, and Frank Gerwer star in Machotaildrop, a feature film produced by Corey Adams and Alex Craig with Fuel TV.

And if you like what you see, but can't find the full length feature, check out the Cakeskate "faces 'n spaces" or the cover story from Color vol. 4 issue 2 for more insight into the great mind of these masters.
