Today was the DC Nationals Qualifiers for Vancouver at Railside Skate Park in Port Coquitlam so i said "what the heck" and my lady and I ventured to check it out. I always forget how awesome that park is and the contest was going off well too. With familiar faces like AJ McCallister and new breeds alike - it was a good day for skateboarding...A few flicks from the sidelines:
Battle of the Berrics Part 2 is upon us and the good people at *note, this didn't work for me so i just sent in my list (above) as it appears in nick's sample (below).
Step 3: Go to your list and beside each winner, place a number between 1and 5 indicating how many letters your skater will win by. You'll need to do this for every round until you get to the final (we'll explain this in a bit).
Step 4: Now you should have a list of names of winners accompanied by a number between 1 and 5. email that list to nick@breadwinner.ca along with your name, and email address.
Rules:
1. For each win, you will gain a point.
2. You will also accrue a point if you guess the correct amount of letters your skaters wins by. For example, if Skater A has SK and Skater B has SKATE, Skater A won by 3 letters. This means there is a total of 2 points you can earn per win.
3. The player with the most amount of points at the end, wins.
4. If there is a tie, a real life game of SKATE will be played to determine the winner. If you cannot stand on a skateboard for whatever reason (you've never actually skated before), you can elect one person from the pool who does skate, by drawing a name out of a hat to represent you. This game of SKATE will be played on a date TBD. If the tied partcipants are unamble to get together due to where they're located geographically, the game will be played via webcam. Lets hope there's a tie!
5. The max amount of points one player can accrue for the entire game is 62 pts. The lowest is 0.
6. Once your list and $10 are in, picks are final. You cannot at any point change your picks.
"BUT THE CONTEST HAS ALREADY STARTED"
Yes, it has. If you sign up by Friday, July 3rd at 12:00pm you get 2 free points (so you're doing better than some of us already!). After the weekend you can still sign up, but you forfit the 2 free points.
If you wish to participate, Breadwinner will need your list and $10. If for some reason you can't get it by that time, just say so and we'll figure something out. Please include your name (first and last) and email address along with your list. Breadwinner will be holding the pot in trust. We will keep track of each round and update everyone per round on the winner, pool leader, and points accrued. Lets get a bunch of guys playing! The more people participating, the bigger the pot! If the pot is big enough,we'll split the winnings between 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
