This past tuesday I had the pleasure of meeting up with Push's Matt Houghton and the winner from the First Photos contest, Mike Helfrich in Toronto. We visited The Rail skate park where Mike was granted the honour of a private photo shoot with some of the Vans Canada team... and I got to skate on Matt's board and poach photos.
In true Barley form, Adam Green landed himself a hefty alley-oop fs 360 wallride from long to short.

He was happy when he found out he knocked over the tripod NOT holding the camera and everyhting was okay.

I have to hand it to Mike for packing a fog machine. I thought it was ridiculous and I think the skaters were a little put off as well. But in the end, I don't think anyone could have offered a better solution for making skate park photos more interesting.
Click here for Mike's photos from his private session at the Rail with Vans' Jesse Landen, Antoine Asselin, and Adam Green. And here to view some shots from the photo show.

I was stoked to find out Mike was from the same home town as me. And Jesse Landen must have got soft on the young photographer too because he made away with his new pro model deck.
