88 Boadrum in two days!
MusicRmember the 77 Boadrum thing that the Boredoms did in NYC last year? 77 drummers, 77 minutes on the seventh day of the 7th month of 2007? Well, they're going it again this year on both coasts, except this time it's 88 drummers and 88 minutes on August 8th, 2008. Like last year, it's free (though all the free tix are sold out) and sponsored by Nike, who are giving away free limited tees to attendees. The Boredoms themselves will leading the assault in LA, while the NYC installment will be curated by Gang Gang Dance. There's a total of 176 drummers, so naturally, almost every cool band in the universe has a member participating. Oneida, Hella, Tussle, Sic Alps, High Places, TV On the Radio, Psychic Ills...I could go on all day. If you can't go, keep your eye on Youtube. God knows people are going to film it.
