It usually starts with an email from our music editor that goes something like this: "Yo, Dan, we should do something with this band, they're fucking awesome." Then, if they are new to me, I'll go and check out some of their songs, maybe play them out loud in the office.
When it came to METZ, we were all fucking hooked immediately. Loud, fast, exciting—these guys are deadly. I got even more stoked when my digging around online kept turning up with reviews of how insane their live shows are. Good thing they are on tour right now and will be stopping in Vancouver on Nov. 1 to destroy The Biltmore.
For our upcoming issue, photographer Jeremy Jansen and writer Jenna Rogers were lucky enough to get an interview with the newly-minted SubPop artists under a bridge in Toronto before the guys got busy touring and blowing people's minds. Check it out in Color 10.4
