12 HR Film Competition Results
Life / Film
The 12 Hour Film Festival premiere went down in a huge way last night in Vancouver, as 4 team entries walked away with $5000 worth of prizes from KR3W, Supra, Chocolate, Spitfire and Independent including Trucks for Life and the Color company card + a budget to create an original new video.

A couple of the many 'grams that went down. Search the official hashtag #12HRplazafilm for more!
In case for some weird reason you haven't being paying attention, last Saturday as a part of Olio Festival 2012, we let 5 teams of filmers and skaters loose onto The Plaza and gave them 12 hours to film a video. Then, they took a week to edit and submit their entries. In the end, 4 teams emerged with videos that far exceeded our expectations, further proving that the Canadian skate scene is killing it these days.

Joel Martell from Hot Box collects his hot box for winning "Most Original" video

Team Onethirtythree can't believe they snuck a little child into the premiere
The Plaza that day was so hectic and we had no idea what to expect when it came time to watch these videos. Costumes, props... things were getting wild... but nobody saw this coming. Audiences inside Chronic Tacos on Sunday were treated to 4 spectacular entries, each one bringing it's own flavour and concept to the mix. Truly impressive shit.
WINNER: "MOST ORIGINAL"
"Hot Box" came through with a trippy underwater adventure that won Most Original and left everyone scratching their heads, wondering what just happened.
WINNER: "STRAIGHT UP HUSTLIN'"
"Onethirtythree" had the biggest crew and even made the trek over from Vancouver Island to participate, taking home the Straight Up Hustlin' award (spoiler: someone shotguns a beer while doing a manual).
WINNER: "ALL OUT"
"WTF" covered the hesher angle, with black metal wigs and pedo-van burnouts. They also had the most tricks and made the most use of the 12 hours, so we gave them Trucks for Life for going All Out.
WINNER: "BEST OVERALL"
The big winner, "Don't Sleep", had the most stacked team and came through with some insane NBD tricks. Their rap video-style entry won't soon be forgotten, so we gave them the company credit card to make a brand new video which will be up on our site sometime in the new year.
As of today, all these amazing videos are live on Skatematic.com and on their free mobile app (available in the iTunes store). Go watch them and vote for your favourites by liking or tweeting. In a few weeks, we're going to choose a Viewer's Choice to be featured on our site. Support!
Big ups to all the amazing sponsors and individuals who made this thing such a huge success. See you next year!!
