VANS ROAD BLOCK 2012 - Recapitated
Life / Skate
Trevor Dunnet, frontside fiver
The obstacles from local shops/teams keep getting better each year Vans shuts down the block on Granville Street in Vancouver. Thanks to Arnette, The Road Block went off without a hitch with perfect sunny skies and forty-fives by DJ Vinyl Ritchie. The usual passersby enjoyed one helluva show from Antisocial, BLVD, Underworld and Coastal Riders skate teams and (much to emcee Cyrus Thiedeke's dismay) they even stepped into the action from time to time. From topless fairy's to lathered, leather-skinned bicyclists — the scene was without a lot of the staple Vancouver degenerates and filled with summertime buzz.

There's a new kid in town. Welcome to Vancovuer Jamie!

While there is no prize given to "best obstacle" it speaks volumes about what each shop has to give to our little skateboard scene over here in the PNW. Each presented their own challenges; from CSTL's tight cedar combo box, Antisocial's Saloon channel wall, the tin-roof of BLVD x Jamie Maley's blazing Cadillac, to the outer-capped ledges from Underworld.

A man who needs no introduction: Paul Machnau with a fs blunt for CSTL.
