The 2nd Annual Slocan Backyard Bowl Bash/Josh Evin Memorial Jam was almost a spitting image of 2011's bash, but it's quite the opposite of a bad thing. Minus the rain, it might have even been better than the year prior! More bro's can only equal more fun in my eyes. Photos by Ali Yaqubian.

Over the past year and a half, Austin Gillette and Riley Hawk have been on a steady streak of producing some great footage with little signs of slowing down. Austin's new shoe is hitting the shelves, Riley is out from his fathers wing and now on Baker. In the edit above, they are featured in a more artistic way as they hit some ledges and ditches in this commercial for Quiksilver.
Nike and Levis are teaming up for a skater specific batch of goods, 511. This commercial featuring Omar Salazar and created by Benny Maglinao is one of the better things we've seen all year.

Nike has released the first batch of unseen footage from #skateeverydamnday. This part features two of the newer Nike recruits, Eric Koston and Girl teammate Sean Malto skating China. Check back later in the week as more exclusive content comes out from Nike and this project.

"In the summer of 1999, a team of four skateboarders and two bands embarked on a life changing tour. The goal was to inspire kids in rural areas by exposing them to skateboarding and music they wouldn’t otherwise have an opportunity to see in person. Everyone on board grew up in small towns themselves so the tour was affectionately dubbed “Hicks On Sticks”."
We are stoked that "Hicks on Sticks" is holding its Canadian Premiere right here in Vancouver, "where the story of the underdog skateboarding tour began."!

On a sunny Sunday afternoon in L.A. I met up with Danny Garcia for a beer and a song. It's always a good time hanging out with Danny so I filmed this little video to prove it. You likely know Danny for his role with Habitat but what you probably don't know is that he's also musically inclined. Danny continues to progress with his music, even playing guitar alongside his dear old pal Matt Costa and touring around the world. Eventually it will be to the point that he is recognized for his career in music and not for his one in skateboarding. I'm pretty sure Danny will be entirely okay with that.
