Globe Record Leaks — Fleetwood to Fraser Heights
SkateThe Fleetwood homies were out in full force when we showed up at this South Surrey stop. Mike "Hashbrown" Shulze, Dustin Locke (fresh from the Cariboo trip to Phoenix) and John Hanlon were all on the scene and glad to see us even though we barged into the middle of their sesh. Afterwards, Hanlon advised us on a great park nearby that wasn't on our list, so DeCenzo jumped in shotgun with his Darkstar teammate and we all headed to Fraser Heights.

"Dragonslayer" Showing at the Waldorf
Fashion / Life / Film / Art / Music / Skate
On Thursday, May 24 at The Waldorf (1489 Hastings St E), Tristan Patterson's 2011 SXSW documentary winner Dragonslayer will be screening to Vancouver audiences for only the second time since it rolled through town as part of VIFF. If you weren't among the lucky few who saw the film this past winter, then this is your chance to check out an incredible piece of skateboarding cinema. Here's an excerpt from our article on Dragonslayer from Color 9.5:
"Dragonslayer will appeal to anyone who has ever Google mapped an aerial view of their neighbourhood looking for pools or anyone who has gotten completely hammered on forties under a bridge or smoked so much weed they puked all over the mini-ramp... Through the objective lens of documentary, Skreech and Tristan share their passions and successes but also the downfalls and challenges we all face." - Color 9.5
Doors open at 7 PM
Showing starts at 8 PM
For more info check out the Waldorf Hotel's website and RSVP to the Facebook event.
Here is an interview with the director to continue to fuel your stoke:
Sebo Walker and the Pico XLK
Fashion / Film / Skate
Lakai has beefed up their Pico shoe with the XLK sole, that simply kicks ass. Speaking of kicking ass, Sebo Walker is nuts. If you had any doubts to why he was added to the team hopefully this commercial will quell them. Also check out all the new shoes that have just been posted.

Globe Record Leaks - The Cloverdales
SkateYou know you've hit South Surrey when you start seeing this colorway at the skateparks. Why they had to make everything look like a child's ABC blocks, I don't know, but they did and it's weird. Even weirder: we lost the pros at this stop. I mean, their van just didn't show up. So we waited... and waited... Stefan Shipmaker kept us entertained by getting a Razor scooter posse to ante up with a mass 'Tailwhip'. The guys eventually showed up. Turns out they just needed some food and some water (who knew?!!) DeCenzo had a pretty special fondness for this place, but we had to get going if this whole world record thing was going to work.

A little further down the road, we spotted something that resembled a skatepark on our left so we pulled in. We quickly realized it was poor timing as some soccer mom was reaming out 3 little kids for apparently throwing rocks at her son. Her voice and her threats to call the police were enough to drive everyone crazy, but Appleyard pushed through for a couple tricks, then we were on our way.
