Frustration getting the better of you? That trick is almost there too many times and the madness sets in, it's oh so easy to take it out on your board. Careful. Another great commercial from the folks at Lakai. Stop by your local shop and check out the shoe in person, you won't be disappointed.
In the "oh shit!" category this part goes to 11. DC rider, Evan Smith has a ridicules amount of tricks in his bag and an eye for going at things the hard way.
He's been pro for longer than most of you have been alive and his name recognition for those under 25 is practically nil. Vans pro Omar Hassan was one of the original all terrain skaters of the late 80s and 90s. From blasting head high airs on vert ramps to hitting big rails, Omar can do it all. These days, he's content skating with friends and backyard bowls.
Last year when the Real video premiered (our coverage) around the US and Canada, shops were asked to have donation buckets available to help raise money for the JohnnyKicksCancer Foundation to help fight childhood leukemia. "November 4, 2011 marked a proud moment for the JohnnyKicksCancer Foundation when we made a grant of $65,000.00 to the Texas Children's Leukemia Research Team!" The money raised at the premieres helped make that donation possible. The Real team made a trip to the latest Make-a-Wish event in Texas and came back with the above footage from the park and a visit to the hospital.
Stylish skater and man, Alex Olson is the newest recruit to the Nike SB team. Chris Nieratko talked with Alex about the move over on ESPN. Alex also did a special post over on the Chrome Ball Incident showcasing some of his favorite photos and ads from the 90s, favorite skaters and influences.
"Who in the hell is Miles Silvas?", you might ask and we ask that same question. Whomever he is, the folks at Royal took notice and added him to the team. It's not often that they add folks, let alone a random AM. I'm sure we'll be seeing more from young Miles in the future.
The Quiet Life posted up their first drop of their new line of clothing and goods for your viewing pleasure. Also new for TQL, this commercial featuring flow rider Joe Hook on a rainy LA day. While on the site, check out the Camera Club and submit your photos!
Last month, in the thick of our dreariest weather, the Cariboo Brewing skate team including Sheldon Meleshinski, Corey Klim, Nick Moore, Mike Shulze, Tyler Holm and Kyu Tae Kim, decided to jet off to Phoenix for some skating, but not before picking up our boy Gordon on the way to the airport.
A week later, when Gordon sauntered back into London Pub fresh off the plane from Arizona (doing his best Hunter S. Thompson impression, complete with half-buttoned Hawaiian shirt), it was obvious that things had gotten pretty heaty down there. Good thing they had plenty of cold 'boos to keep 'em going.
Check out this video teaser they released today and look for the whole story and ripping photos in the Summer issue of Color (10.2)
Yesterday it was Dylan and today Arto has a commercial in support of the Quarters by Gravis. Like so many of their shoes, it's simple with classic lines and without over-complicating the technical features. Available in both the lifestyle and skate lines it's a shoe that has a wide appeal.
