Go Skateboarding Day started early yesterday with a waffle breakfast at the newly remolded Plaza park, and ended late with the new Transworld video premiering at London's Pub thanks to Underworld skate shop. Some kept the party going, building bonfires at the beach and watching the sun rise in the morning. Hundreds of kids came together to skate the newly remodeled Plaza park, eat some Vans style waffles, and skate some new spots sprinkled around the city. The day had perfect weather, some great skateboarding happened all over the city, and maybe most importantly, it seemed like most people were genuinely happy to see a mob of psyched kids close down roads and interrupt their Tuesday.
We've posted some photos from the day on our flickr account. Click through to check them out.
The Stussy Summer 2011 collection includes a series of t-shirts by animator JJ Villard. A graduate of CalArts, JJ has worked on huge Hollywood films such as Shrek the Third, Shrek Forever After and Monsters vs. Aliens before landing his current gig at Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. JJ’s personal work is drastically different from the high profile projects he typically works on. Inspired by 80′s pop culture, horror films and things of a darker nature, JJ used the idea of a sketchbook to inspire his tees. Using pens, pencils and markers, he created a series of t-shirts that capture the rawness of what a sketchbook is all about.
