Gravis Footwear is pleased to announce the final chapter in the Thomas Campbell Exhibition, UMMMM with the release of the video, ON THE ROAD TO UMMMM.

The video is a time lapsed sequence of Campbell, shot on location in his Bonny Doon, California studio and in Europe. It gives a behind-the-scenes preview of Thomas working on “stuff” for 3 months or so… in preparation of the Ummm, exhibit which was held in Copenhagen, Denmark at the V1 Gallery, late October 2009. 

On the Road to Ummmm, gives an insider view of Thomas’s many artistic talents; painting, sewing, woodwork, silk-screening, bronze casting, doodling and um…more painting.  But it’s not all work for Campbell, a quick stop-over in the south of France, revives this self-proclaimed stuff maker’s skills before he says “au revoir,” and onto his exhibit in Denmark.

When asked about himself and his art, Thomas Campbell’s reply is summed up in one word, “Um..,” “Well, I am not a huge fan of using words to describe art and every time I am asked my gut instinct is just to say "Um, I make stuff." And in reality that is what I do. I am a creative person by nature and by trial and error.”

Thomas Campbell is apart of the Gravis family and is a sponsored artist. He works closely inspiring our team of designers. “I love the fact Thomas works in so many medium's, from film making to photography to all the art he creates. His body of work touches skaters, surfers and the art world, we are so happy to work with him,” says Maurice Torres, Global Marketing Director for Analog Clothing.

“As a team manager, you have to keep a constant look out for up and coming skaters who will possibly one day be a member of the team. A while back Remy Stratton from Volcom told me that Collin Provost, a young buck at the time, wanted to ride for Emerica. I started flowing him shoes and took him on some trips. He was really young but you could tell he was a such natural. Over the years we saw Collin grow and become very powerful on a skateboard. An all terrain ripper, he has the skills to make everything look really easy. The Emerica team took notice of Collin stepping it up over the past couple of years. After sticking it out on flow and putting in some hard work he has earned himself a spot on the Emerica team. Congratulations Collin and Welcome aboard! Here is a little taste of what to expect from Collin Provost in Stay Gold!

So the Girl team is in Australia right now and they've been very social about it via facebook, the tap, shitter etc. But there's something about this one I can really appreciate... Not that I can even do a ss flip. that ankle buckled years ago.

Etnies/ Fourstar rider Tyler Beledsoe was recently named "am of the year". The whacky folks over at takyworld.com hosted a video of said am, and damn if it isn't a banger! check it out.

Besides showing his disdain for the Olympics, our cover boy Keegan has been busy surfing and riding his motorcycle through Mexico.

Sixpack France does everything, or so it would seem from the obscure mi ssion statement on their page, but we do know two things for sure: they did a wicked collage for our article on Cliche in our last issue, and they're curating an event called "It Was On Earth That I Knew Joy" this Saturday at Scion Installations, L.A.

Basically, a bunch of artists from France, England, Switzerland, Jap an, Australia and The United States, came to LA, watched a film by Jean baptiste de Laubier, then created custom posters and installations based on their impressions.

Canada's hardest working and most prolific skateboard filmmakers, Benny and Dave at Don't Sleep just posted their latest video "Tens" to their vimeo page. Sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labour at no cost to you.
