Congrats Cameo!

Cameo Wilson took first place and $12,000 at the Empire Backyard Party presented by Vans at South Parc Skatepark in Montreal.

The judges had yet to make their decision but at this point everyone knew he'd won it.

Tons of little shredders ripped up the place.  Nose blunt over the spine from this one.

The place was even equipped with skatepark daycare.

All the kids seemed to be walking away with 2 of everything.

Miniramp in the back.

Pro Skates streamline shop- now open

Fashion / Life / Skate

Pro Skates originally opened up 24 years ago on Quinpool Rd in Halifax, NS and has had a few homes within the city since then. Two doors down from where the original shop opened the new shop has been streamlined and reborn, the grand open was last week.

ProSkates, ProGirl and Uptown merged into one store, new features include: a piano, custom pro flooring, a skate bar and a massive shoe wall and board selection.

The new shop located on 6541 Quinpool looks soooo sick, I am going to have to plan a special trip to the right coast just to check it out in person.

Yesterday I posted this impromptu and unexpected fashion story with some Quiksilver bros (Alex Olson, Torey Goodall, Pat O'Rourke). You might remember me mentioning a FULL VIDEO of the 3 day trip to be posted later this week... well this isn't it, but below should give you an idea of what it was like to be on this trip from Toronto to "Take The Cake" in Niagra Falls.

Hit the jump for more photos. FULL VIDEO IS COMING...

QUIKKY

Fashion / Life

photos by Alex Olson, Pat O'Rourke, Rob Harris, Pryce Holmes, and Torey Goodall

On a recent journey to Niagra Falls, Quiksilver Canada hooked up with Alex Olson for a three-day skate excursion starting in Toronto. Equipped with disposable cameras, we had the boys document their trip between skating. As a sneak peak into their voyage I've pulled a selection of photos I thought worked well as a segue from our fall "fashion" issue to the winter "film" issue.

The Dimestore Video

It was almost a year ago Montreal's Dimestore Crew, featured in 8.3, released their video.  Here's a little reminder of why we love them.

Vol.8 No.4 Gets Partied

Print / Life

It's pretty much a given up here in Canada that after September we won't be playing host to any more skate tours or demos. "Not so" says DC! and to celebrate, we brought the party! So if you aren't old enough, or weren't able to make it out to this issue's release parties in Calgary, Toronto or Ottawa then crack open a soda now and enjoy some photos from Montreal's release (Thanks to Nic Cote of ULC Skateboards).

And if you're looking for a place to stay dry tonight in Vancouver - why not RAD TIMES? it's fully loaded with the new mag for your greasy paws.
