LET'S NEVER GO TO JAIL

I knew I never ever wanted to go to jail, but this video confirms it even more. I wonder if this is how it really is though. Decide for yourself, I don't plan on ever finding out!!! LOL

FROM RIP TANAKA IN TOKYO

Skate

Tomonori RIP Tanaka has been our good friend for quite awhile now, and I was happy to get his update recently.

Tanaka shot most of his book, Rip Zinger, West Americanized Tour, on Ricoh's GR1s. Recently, however, the company began producing a digital version of the GR1s, and Tanaka began shooting with that, and as a result, gained the attention of Ricoh itself, as he was recently profiled on Ricoh's homepage blog here and here.

Aside from all that, RIP's been giving Keith Hufnagel the Tokyo tour and been preparing for the launch of his next book, Rip Zinger New York, which should be out in July. Keep your eyes peeled for it.

SLAYER PARTY

For those in Toronto looking for a night out night and for something new, hit up 751 Queen St. for the SLAYER party, DJ'd by Steph Hoff and Jackie Death.

NOW Magazine reviewed the party and loved it.

Hit it up on March 20, 2009, and start training for summer skating and drinking; all your favourite skate punk, 90's rap, thrash metal, and of course, some Slayer will be blastin'.

Five dollars to get in to a room full of butts, beats, and beers. Can you go wrong?

BEST ANSWER EVER; MUST BE OAKLAND NATIVE

I happened to come across this earlier this morning: interesting answer to a Jeopardy question. Schooled in Utah but must've been born in Oakland. I wonder if he knows Too $hort?

Here's something to sip your coffee over: ants dismantle a whole lizard and cart it away to do... whatever it is they do. Amazing...

CHUGGO'S AROUND

Music

Some of you may know him from the good ol' days of Toronto's skate scene... or you may not. For those that don't know, Chuggo got his name from looking like a chubby version of "Sluggo", but Chuggo's not chubby anymore. Once the marble ledges of Toronto's downtown wonderland became capped, I lost track of him for quite awhile until I discovered last year that he's climbing the ranks of rappin' in Canada

The below music video is the one for his underground cult classic, "Ah, Come On Fucking Guy", and is quite rad I must say.

I ran into Chugz awhile back in Montreal was able to catch up a bit. He mentioned that he was being sought by the Metro Toronto Police cause they thought he was some rapist, but it was a case of complete mistaken identity. The last I saw him before that, he was wasted on Queen St. in 1998 or something wearing a pizza around his neck (the middle was torn out and he was wearing it like a big necklace) walking around interviewing random goths.
