Dave Ko is the graphic designer behind Color Magazine. He honed his natural skill at Emily Carr University, but we’re not sure if that’s also where he learned to be the nicest guy ever… Try not to like Dave, just try it.
Our friends in Toronto are having an opening reception at the Clint Roenisch Gallery (944 Queen Street W) on November 25th, 7-9pm. Exhibit will run until December 19th. The show is called 'Black to Back and White' and will feature artists Jeremy R. Jansen, Richard Serra, Niall McClelland, and Ellsworth Kelly.
This Friday, November 13th, Booooooom and Lifetime are hosting a group show called 'Tangents' at the Lifetime Space in Vancouver (68 5th Avenue West). The art opening consists of work from 6 artists from around the world: Erika Somogyi, Garry Trihn, Kenichi Hoshine, Ben Tour, Luke Ramsey & Jennilee Marigomen. Show starts at 8pm and there will be refreshments served.
In conjuction with the world premiere of "City of New Lights," Color Magazine will be releasing the new 7.5 issue at Fortune Sound Club on Tuesday, November 10th (Vancouver, BC). So come down and pick up your issue for free before they're gone! You'll also get to see Chad Dickson (who was involved in an traumatic accicent that nearly killed him not too long ago) bounce back with a full video part that includes this burly switch heelflip down the black double.
Also feautured in 7.5 is Sheldon Meleshinski, Luc Baslanti, The Fresh and Onlys, The Sorcerers, Monontonix, Shaun Gladwell, Candice Breitz, Tim Barber, Cedric Bomford, Nha Trang (Vietnam), Kirk Dianda, Don't Sleep Productions, Geoff Rowley, Greg Hunt, and Cake Skate.
