Red Bull MegaHurtz at Pop Montreal

Music

On October 1st and 2nd, Red Bull is throwing a pretty cool event at Studio Juste Pour Rire for Pop Montreal: Red Bull MegaHurtz. It's basically a night of top-shelf electronic music producers, but they're trying to break out of the typical performance mode by going beyond both the typical DJ set and the usual live PA experience. From the press release: "Rather than simply deejay, the acts will introduce their personal studio elements to the stage and perform live for the fans. As hands go up, frequencies will peak. Mix in a few instruments, gadgets and a light show just left of George Lucas, and you have the makings of a Red Bull MegaHurtz." Full lineup after the jump.

Here's the full line-up:

Nosajthing - Los Angeles (Alpha Pup) Megasoid - Montreal (Ninja Tune Records) Grahmzilla – Toronto (Thunderheist) Neighbour – Calgary (Home Breakin Records) Jelo – Toronto (Bugeyed Records) Barletta - Toronto (Tremendous Records) Hovatron – Montreal (Night Trackin) Lunice - Montreal (LuckyMe) GreenMachine - Quebec City (Quebec City)

DAMN AMS

Skate

we didn't get a chance to make it out the billabong damn am bowl jam this year, but luckily field agent louis feller handled it for us...

"Billabong damn am 2009 at bonsor skate park with Brian Schaeffer and friends handing out 20$ bills for any killer tricks in the bowl brought out the new school and the old school to the bowl jam with riders like Alex Chalmers shredding just about anything,Nate Lacoste with some smooth lines and Adam Hopkins doing some huge air's and several attempts at a Mctwist ,there was a lot of ripping going on . Ollie PoP Bubble Gum put up 600$ for the highest ollie contest witch was amazing to watch as the bar got up to 40-inch's Chad Dickson and billabongs Jeff Marshel who went head it head for the cash.
