The idea to make a magazine that spoke to the contemporary skateboarder transpired in September 2002 between two out-of-work artists in an East Vancouver apartment building. Sandro Grison and David Christian sought to explore and accurately

depict skateboard culture, and the things that inspired those within it. Running out of the same building its first issue was delivered to, Color exists today as a viable marketing tool for skaters, artists and like-minded brands.
